The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is seeking a dynamic,
visionary leader to carry out the responsibilities of Director of
Education and Secretary of the Board.
The Board is located in scenic Northwestern Ontario and serves
approximately 5000 students (of which 40% are Aboriginal). The
system of 21 schools is supported by approximately 850 staff and
a budget of $85 million.
The Director of Education is responsible for providing exceptional
leadership through system-wide responsibilities in the areas
of Educational Programming, Personnel, Communications,
Partnerships, Management and Innovative activities. The Director
will also act as a liaison with the Ministry of Education and other
organizations as required.
The Board is seeking a leader who is comfortable with setting
and achieving defined and measurable goals while dealing with
complex educational and financial issues.
Candidates must possess Ontario Supervisory Officer qualifications
as well as successful experience in a senior leadership role.
A cover letter of application referencing File Number N-1213-25,
accompanied by a complete resume is required. Applications
must also include three professional references, one of whom
must be the most recent immediate supervisor, with authorization
to be contacted under the terms of the Municipal Freedom of
