The North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is one of 14 LHINs in Ontario created to plan, fund and integrate local health services including hospitals, the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), long-term care homes, Community Health Centres (CHCs), community support service agencies and mental health and addiction agencies.
The North West LHIN is creating three new positions in its Communications & Community Engagement Department in Thunder Bay:

Communications & Community Engagement Consultant
two full-time permanent positions
In this role, you will use your talent as an outstanding communicator to help transform our health care system for generations to come. In collaboration with your colleagues, you will create and disseminate the knowledge and information required to support the achievement of North West LHIN strategic directions, goals and objectives. Your compelling and meaningful work will help
inform and build commitment amongst key stakeholders, the public and media about the North West LHIN’s transformational programs and initiatives and health care system issues that affect the residents of Northwestern Ontario. You will help manage local issues and concerns, identify and implement communication and engagement methods and build and maintain effective
relationships. In this role, you will also provide guidance and support in building communications and community engagement capacity throughout the North West LHIN and support the Communications & New Media Consultant. You must have a post-secondary education in communications, public relations, marketing or a related discipline along with a minimum of three to five years of communications, public relations or marketing experience, preferably within the health sector.

Communications & New Media Consultant
one full-time permanent position
In addition to providing support to the Communications & Community Engagement Consultants, you will develop and implement an effective new media plan that maximizes new digital media opportunities to communicate and engage across the North West LHIN. You will develop social networking, Web 2.0 and online community tools, techniques and strategies to exchange key knowledge and information with our stakeholder online communities. You will ensure that our online communications channels are current, interactive, consistent and engaging. As well, you will coordinate the redesign/refresh
and ongoing maintenance of the North West LHIN website, creating and maintaining a dynamic and interactive interface to compelling, easily accessed content for internal and external audiences. You have a post-secondary education in multimedia, digital media design, fine arts, communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related discipline or equivalent
academic and professional experience. You have a minimum of three to five years of digital/online media, communications, public relations or marketing experience, preferably within the health sector. In addition to the above areas of specialization, all three candidates must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and editing abilities, be able to work well in a high-performance team environment where constant change is the norm, and be self-motivated, lifelong learners. French language skills are an asset.
