INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST INTERN

Job Description: Under the direction of an OFNTSC Infrastructure
Specialist the intern will obtain knowledge and expertise through
training courses and work experiences to provide First Nation
communities technical and enhanced services in the following areas:
Energy efficiency; conducting new and existing housing inspections,
advisory services regarding Minor Capital planning and budgeting,
non-professional aspects of Major Capital and O & M including
Integrated Capital Management System (ICMS), Asset Condition
Reporting System (ACRS) and advise regarding the utilization of training
resources as well as construction and contract administration.
Qualifications:
College/University Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or
Architectural Technology/Technician or other related specialty.
• Must be self motivated with excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to operate computers and a variety of software applications
such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCad (asset).
• Valid Ontario Drivers License AND ability and availability to travel
extensively throughout Ontario.
Northern Ontario secondary school graduates 29 years of age or
under who recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
Graduates from a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have
resided in the North for at least one year are also eligible. Mature
graduates may be considered.
