St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) is a recognized leader in Northwestern
Ontario in the provision of complex care, rehabilitation, long term care,
mental health and addiction services. The Care Group is currently accepting
applications from qualified professionals for the position of Director,
Learning, Research & Professional Practice.

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Director of Learning,
Research & Professional Practice is responsible for providing leadership and
oversight to a variety of areas which provide support to clinical and
corporate areas within SJCG. These areas include Library Services, Research
Department, Research Ethics and Research Services Office, Learning &
Professional Practice and Clinical Ethics. This includes implementation of
relevant initiatives that advance the strategic priorities of SJCG, and
development and implementation of quality improvement plans specific to the
areas within portfolio. Leading a team of managers and additional staff, the
Director fosters an integrated team approach to service planning, delivery,
budgeting, and managing fiscal and human resources.

In collaboration with multiple partners internal and external to the Care
Group, the Director plays a key role in furthering initiatives that support
the integration of excellent clinical services, learning and research.

The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications:
• Advanced educational and/or professional qualifications required
• Master's degree in a related management field preferred
• Clinical education and registration in a regulated health profession
may be an asset
• Several years middle management experience
• Proven experience in progressively more responsible leadershiop roles,
gained within comparable, complex organizations
• Excellent planning and relationship management skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare system, including provincial
policy, relevant acts and legislation, current trends, issues
and initiatives.
• Willingness to travel, use of a reliable vehicle and adequate insurance
• A second language is an asset
