The Apatisiwin Program represents the needs of the urban Aboriginal community and develops working relationships with non-Aboriginal organizations, the labour force and the community. The long term vision
of the Apatisiwin Program is that Aboriginal people gain education, and skills to achieve and maintain meaningful employment. Apatisiwin offers several employment and training services designed for all Urban Aboriginal people
Position Summary
The Career Developer will provide job placement and job retention services through the Apatisiwin Program to clients who are experiencing difficulty in finding or obtaining employment. The Career Developer will work directly with employers to identify job leads that meet their needs and encourage employers to provide on-the-job training, work experience opportunities and placement for clients in meaningful employment.
The Career Developer will work closely with the Employment Counsellor and other Friendship Centre staff, by providing easy access to the training, apprenticeship, and labour market services, as required.
