Parks and Recreation Manager

Marathon is located on the north shore of Lake Superior, in
proximity to the Hemlo gold fields, on the eastern edge of
the District of Thunder Bay. With a population of
approximately 3,500, Marathon boasts numerous
recreational facilities, excellent school facilities, and a
hospital.
Reporting to the C.A.O., the Parks and Recreation
Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction and
operation of recreation facilities and services.
Responsibilities include department budget preparation
and monitoring, grant application and review,
programming, user group/community liaison, marketing,
special events and overseeing operations at recreation
facilities including the arena, pool, golf course, parks,
playgrounds and open spaces. Salary will be
commensurate with experience and complemented with a
comprehensive vacation and benefits package.
