St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG) invites sealed Tenders for the construction
of the Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Program.

The Project consists of the construction of a three storey plus penthouse
addition to the existing St Joseph's Hospital located at 35 Algoma Street
North in the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The goal of the Project is to
achieve LEED® certified to the minimum level of Gold through the Canadian
Green Building Council.

The Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Program (SMHRP) is designed as an addition to the existing St. Joseph’s Hospital building. The addition
incorporates a 38-bed mental health program and extensive mental health
outpatient services, non-clinical services required to support the mental
health programs, and administration services.

The addition will be integrated into the existing St. Joseph’s Hospital
building and includes 98,400 sf GFA of new construction along with 11,600 sf
GFA of renovations within the existing footprint of St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The addition is of non-combustible construction complete with a steel &
concrete super-structure bearing on driven steel piles and concrete pile
caps and grade beams. The exterior of the building will consist of EPDM
roofing, exterior brick, stone, concrete and fibre-cement siding along with
aluminum curtain wall, windows and doors. Mechanical systems will include
radiant infloor heating / cooling, ducted ventilation system, sprinklers, a
complete plumbing system & new site storm water system. Electrical systems
include Normal and Emergency power, Fire Alarm, Communication and Security systems that integrate into the existing hospital. Landscaping is included within the scope of the Project.

SJCG has engaged FORM Architecture Engineering of Thunder Bay, Ontario in
the capacity of Prime Consultant and Turner & Townsend of Toronto, Ontario
in the capacity of Project Manager for the Project.

Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2015 and be completed
within twenty four (24) months from the construction start date.

have been Pre – Qualified through Request for Pre –Qualification process No.
14 - 01 issued by SJCG on May 12, 2014:

THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF GILLIES
Comprehensive Zoning By-law
Please Take Notice:
The Township of Gillies passed a new, comprehensive Zoning Bylaw (By-law 2014-018) on Monday, November 10th, 2014, at a
public meeting held in accordance with the provisions of the
Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P13, as amended. The purpose of the
new by-law is to regulate use of property throughout the Township
and to replace the existing zoning by-law, Number 493.
The by-law applies to all property within the Township of Gillies.
Changes to the general provisions of the by-law include new
provisions allowing limited agricultural activity within the Village
Residential Zone, a prohibition against fracking for hydrocarbons
and a change to the maximum height provisions for accessory
buildings. Three site-specific zoning by-law amendments are
included. A 10-acre parcel of property at the intersection of
Highway 588 and AnnalaRoad was re-zoned from Rural to
Commercial to allow for development of a self-storage facility
(among other uses). The front and rear yard setbacks for a
neighbouring parcel of land to that one were reduced from 15 to 10
metres to allow for the siting of an accessory building to the
residential use. The Zoning for a property within the Village of
Hymers, at * Highway 595, was altered to allow, in addition to other
permitted uses, a home industry to be operated from the garage on
site. Other changes to the by-law were more general in nature,
including modernized wording and enforcement provisions.
The as-passed by-law, as well as background information and
reports, and a concordance between by-laws 2014-018 and 493,
are
all
available
on
the
Township’s
website
at
www.gilliestownship.com.
Appeals to the Ontario Municipal Board, in accordance with the
Planning Act, must be filed in the Municipal Office on or before
Monday, December 15th, 2014. The notice of appeal must be filed
with the Clerk of the Township, must set out the reasons for the
appeal, and must be accompanied by the fee required by the
Municipal Board.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a bylaw to the Ontario Municipal Board. A notice of appeal may not be
filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice
of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a
member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing
of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or
public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written
submissions to the council, or, in the opinion of the Ontario
Municipal Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person
or public body as a party.
The public is advised that failing to submit comments will jeopardize
your ability to appeal the by-law to the Ontario Municipal Board.
