CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE REHABILITATION OF
BOULEVARD LAKE DAM

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
THE PROJECT:
The City of Thunder Bay is proposing to rehabilitate the Boulevard Lake Dam. The proposed work includes partial deck replacement, deck topping, post-tensioned anchors, refacing spillways and sluiceways, aluminum railing, sluice gate, concrete footbridge, and approach improvements. During construction, the dam will not be accessible to the public, with the exception of the Triathlon during Year 2 (2016). Following receipt of necessary approvals, the two stage construction will take place between late June – October 31, 2015, and the following summer - October 31, 2016.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS:
The above project is being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. Subject to comments received as a result of this Notice, and receipt of necessary approvals, the City of Thunder Bay intends to proceed with the construction of this project.

Interested persons should provide comment to JML Engineering within 30 days from the date of this Notice. If concerns arise regarding this project, which cannot be resolved in discussion with JML Engineering, a person or party may request that the Minister of the Environment make an order for the project to
comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act (referred to as Part II Order), which addresses individual environmental assessments. Requests must be received by the Minister at the address below within 30 calendar days of this Notice. A copy of the request must also be sent to the consulting engineers at the above address. If there is no request received by November 17, 2014, the project will proceed as planned.

Tenders will be opened publicly at 1:30 p.m.of the same day in the City Boardroom.
This contract is for the installation of LED Trail lighting and associated
works at the following locations within the City of Thunder Bay: County
Park area Trails of approximately 2.4 km, and Trails from County Boulevard
to Hinton Avenue of approximately 1.8 km.
Contract documents may be obtained from the office of Hatch Mott
MacDonald after 9:00 am, Monday October 20, 2014, and are available for
viewing at the Thunder Bay Construction Association.
A MANDATORY PRE-TENDER MEETING will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday,
October 21, 2014 at the County Boulevard Tennis Court Parking Lot, near
Brant Street.
A non-refundable deposit of $35.00 is required for each set of contract
documents. Cheques shall be made payable to Hatch Mott MacDonald.
A Bid Bond or Certified Cheque in the amount of 10% of the Tender Price
made payable to the City of Thunder Bay, shall accompany each Tender.
The lowest or any Tender need not necessarily be accepted.

Take Notice that tenders are invited for the purchase of the land
described below and will be received until 3:00 p.m. local time on

regarding the title to or any other matters relating to the
lands to be sold. Responsibility for ascertaining these
matters rests with the potential purchasers.
This sale is governed by the Municipal Act, 2001 and the
Municipal Tax Sales Rules made under that Act. The successful
purchaser will be required to pay the amount tendered plus
accumulated taxes, HST if applicable and the relevant land
transfer tax.
The municipality has no obligation to provide vacant possession
to the successful purchaser.
