Dodgers claim senior crown
Chris Toneguzzi hit a three-run homer in the second inning to lead the Daytona Dodgers to an 11-0 victory over the Coastal Steele Orioles to capture the Thunder Bay Senior Baseball Association championship on Tuesday at Baseball Central.
The Dodgers reeled off four straight victories to claim the title after losing the first game of the best-of-seven series.
Pat Shoppoff and Brad Crocker also drove in two runs each to pace the Dodgers.
Steve Aleksiejan picked up the victory for the Dodgers, tossing a complete-game two hitter over five innings and striking out three.
The game went only five innings as the mercy rule was in effect when the Dodgers had a lead of 10 runs or more after the fifth inning.
Orioles starter Alex Lagadin was saddled with the loss, giving up seven runs over two innings.
