Nominees sought for Citizens of Exceptional Achievement Awards
The City of Thunder Bay is looking for people who exemplify leadership and commitment in the community.
The city is accepting nominations until Jan. 25 for its Citizens of Exceptional Achievement Awards.
A pamphlet provided by the city outlines the categories, submission requirements and the selection process.
Awards are given out monthly and yearly in three categories: Spirit of Thunder Bay Award; Good Citizen Award; and Youth Award.
Annual awards honour those individuals, organizations and groups who volunteer to create a neighbourhood or community where people feel a sense of belonging and responsibility to each other and are active participants in its life.
Monthly awards are given during council meetings. These awards are presented to an individual, team or organization for outstanding achievement and contribution to the community.
Recipients must have received provincial, national or international recognition for their achievement.
It is the responsibility of the individual, team or organization to present full documentation on the level of achievement.
Winners and nominators will be notified and invited to attend the awards ceremonies.
More information and pamphlets are available at the office of the city clerk at Thunder Bay city hall.
