Bistro, farm owners have big plans
Two Thunder Bay-area businesses have received a share of $100,000 in Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. support.
The Blue Door Bistro will use $76,350 to establish a cafe, offering a blend of classic food combinations with a sophisticated twist on breakfast and lunch.
The project will create three full-time and two part-time positions.
“As the owners of The Blue Door Bistro, we were ‘over the moon’ to receive the good word of being accepted as a recipient of this NOHFC grant,” Hollie and Craig Napper said in a news release.
Bindleweed Farm of Nolalu’s $25,000 will allow owner Chelsea Rivalin to purchase a cooling unit, greenhouses, irrigation system, farming tools and equipment, fencing, production area, market stand and advertising.
