Agriculture station looks for security

The Thunder Bay Agricultural Research Station board of directors aims to ensure funding is in place next year for the continued operation of the research facility.
Peter Aalbers, vice-president of station operators, Thunder Bay Agricultural Research Association, said Tuesday the group is seeking a long-term funding commitment from the province before Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. support dries up in March 2015.
“We’ve got a year yet, but we have to start looking at this now,” he said.
“It’s pretty hard (to get a commitment).’’
