Senior ski circuit rivalries renewed

in

The SkiHaus Senior Circuit is off and running. When the circuit began 38 year, two-thirds of those currently racing weren’t born.
This group includes two of Thunder Bay’s finest ski racers, Scott Prior and Northrop Johnston. The two battled all season long a year ago with Johnston, an eastern import attending Lakehead University, gaining a slight upper hand.
Skiing for the SkiHaus, Johnston got the first KO in the first official points event held Jan. 9. His 40.74 left the field of 70 racers gasping.
Cold, windy weather caused cancellations of the Jan. 2 opener on the slopes of Loch Lomond Ski Area. If all goes well, two events will be held today, with a 7 p.m. start time set for racing at Loch Lomond.
