Snowmobilers stranded in slush

Provincial police are reminding area snowmobilers to be prepared for emergencies after two riders became stranded on a remote lake northwest of Kenora on Monday.
The Kenora OPP detachment was notified by Lac Du Bonnet RCMP about 5 p.m. that two men in their mid-30s had been reported stranded in the area of Reynar Lake inside the Ontario border.
At about 10:30 p.m., police received a cellphone call from the missing men who provided GPS co-ordinates for their location. The men were located from the air and family members who were nearby on snow machines, picked them up.
The men had been icefishing and got stuck in deep slush.
