Jamie-lee Nicholls gets a close look at live sea lamprey that were on display in an aquarium at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission at the Central Canada Outdoor Show. Alan Rowlinson, an assistant treatment biologist, says there are five species of lamprey in the Great Lakes. The northern brook, American brook silver and sea lamprey are abundant in Lake Superior, while the chestnut lamprey is at home in Lake Michigan. The show will continue today in Thunder Bay at the Sports Dome with exhibitors, demonstrations and auctions.
