JOIN us for a series that is unforgettable, strange, and extraordinary. The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra breathes new life into its beloved cabaret series, bringing patrons fresh ideas from Maestro Paul Haas and Conductor-in-Residence Simon Rivard. Guest artists from Thunder Bay’s vibrant and diverse musical community will join the TBSO on-stage for three programs this season.

The first installment of the Northern Lights series welcomes one of Thunder Bay’s premier jazz ensembles, Cafe Paris. This group is comprised of some of the city’s most diverse and talented musicians, who perform as part of the consortium of musicians that make up the Martin Blanchet Jazz Quintet. Cafe Paris specializes in French jazz, gypsy jazz, chanson francaise, and cabaret music.

Martin Blanchet (bass, vocals), Dino Pepe (sax), Katie Stevens (violin), and Kyle Shushack (guitar), present Stray Cats and Mad Dogs, featuring the sounds of Django Reinhardt, ?dith Piaf, and Jacques Dutronc.

Show dates are Nov. 3 and 4 at the Italian Cultural Centre. Tickets are available at the door, or in advance at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Student and child rates are available. Visit www.tbso.ca/tickets for more information.
