Thunder Bay artists have the chance to have their work featured in events hosted by the city.

The city is looking for artists or artistic teams to submit concepts for snow sculptures for the fifth annual SnowDay event, which will be held at Prince Arthur’s Landing on Family Day in February. The snow sculptures are intended to fit with Canada’s 150 anniversary.

Participating artists will have the opportunity to win $1,000 in cash as well as non-cash prizes.

In addition, the city is looking for concepts to design a three-dimensional award for the annual Thunder Bay Art and Heritage awards, which will be held on Feb. 16. The invitation is open to local and regional artists. Up to two award designs can be submitted. The successful artists will also fabricate the awards for presentation at the awards event for the next two years.

Both competitions will close on Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m. Submissions will be reviewed by a jury.
