SATURDAY brings the return of the always highly anticipated Jeans ‘n Classics to the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra stage. This time, they are taking on two of the greatest pop/glam/rock geniuses in music history — David Bowie and Prince.

Both Bowie and Prince were controversial innovators who refused to be boxed into specific genres and refused to abide by the confines of a single image. Instead, they embraced fluidity in every aspect of their musical personas.

A night of music that pairs these two groundbreaking artists makes perfect sense.

Jeans ‘n Classics never fail to put on a spectacular, high-energy, mood-boosting show, but if you need further reason to check out this concert, it will feature the hilarious and uber-talented vocalist Gavin Hope singing Prince — seriously, this man has an infectious energy and spotlight-stealing comedic timing.

Also headlining is vocalist Jean Meilleur, who will be singing the Bowie material. His voice has been described as “passionate and provocative, a true original.”

Joining Jean and Gavin on stage are two other powerhouse Jeans ‘n Classics vocalists Andrea Koziol and Katalin Kiss.

The concert will spotlight a selection of the most iconic songs from the two artists, including Rebel Rebel, Let’s Dance, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, Changes, Raspberry Beret, plus many more.

The music of Bowie and Prince lives on with Jeans ‘n Classics and the TBSO this weekend.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m, Saturday at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Tickets are available for purchase ahead of time, in-person at the Community Auditorium box office or online at
