Ribfest starts up

People began to trickle down to the Gateway Casino parking lot on Park Avenue on Friday around lunchtime as the seventh annual Ribfest got underway.

Denver McKinnon couldn’t let his family head for camp on Friday without completing a time-honoured and tasty family tradition — heading to Ribfest.

Denver came to the seventh annual Ribfest in Thunder Bay, held in the Gateway Casino parking lot on Park Avenue, with his brother Connor and parents Brad and Kelli McKinnon.

“We started coming to the Ribfest since it started,” said Brad McKinnon. “We’re actually headed out to camp today and (Denver) said ‘We can’t miss it. It’s our family tradition.’”
