An “epidemic” of banking outlet closures in rural Northwestern Ontario is continuing, leaving seniors who still like to pay their bills in person out in the cold, says Terrace Bay Mayor Jody Davis.
“I think all governments need to work together to try and find a solution to this trend,” Davis said Monday. “It’s been an epidemic of closures across Northern Ontario.”
CIBC informed Davis last week that it will shut down its Simcoe Plaza branch, including its ATM machines, as of Aug. 15, 2019.
