A pedestrian bridge over the McIntyre River was opened to foot and bicycle traffic on Monday, connecting trail systems across Thunder Bay.

Joanna Carastathis, chair of the Thunder Bay walkability committee, called the bridge, that is located on the Confederation College campus, a key connector for the city.

“It’s linking north and south of the city so people can safely and actively commute, whether walk or bike, making it so all modes are viable options,” said Carastathis.
