Ontario is supporting the construction and maintenance of community access and forestry roads this year.
In 2005, the government established the Provincial Forest Access Roads Funding Program as a way to contribute its share of costs to build and maintain public access roads in Crown forests. The latest support for the roads amounts to $74 million this year.
“Investing in community access and forestry roads benefits communities across Northern Ontario,” said Bill Mauro, MPP for Thunder Bay-Atikokan and minister of Municipal Affairs, in a news release on Thursday.
