Shad program starts

Students from across the country arrived in Thunder Bay on Sunday to be immersed in an intense learning program hosted at Lakehead University.

Brianna Heal spent most of her Canada Day travelling to Thunder Bay from her home in Whitehorse, Yukon.

“It took me 15 hours to get here but I think it was worth it,” said Heal on Monday.

The recent Grade 11 graduate is one of 65 students taking up residence at Lakehead University for the next four weeks participating in the annual Canada-wide Shad program.
