The Sunday in the Park concert series is back this year at Chippewa Park.

Starting this weekend, the music begins at 2 p.m., and then at 4 p.m. Capital Players theatre group performs.

Kicking things off on Sunday is local band Given the Chance, a three-piece group playing a mix of folk, gospel and country music. The group is comprised of 16-year-old Felicity Lachance, 13-year-old banjo prodigy Josiah Lachance and mentor Jamie Gerow.

The music keeps coming every Sunday until Sept. 1 and the groups featured are Two Bits Duo, Got This Covered, Thunder Brass and Fort William Male Choir, The Summertime JAM Project, Road Worn Chaps, Martin Blanchet Jazz Trio, The Gin Tonics and Brother John.

The concerts are free to attend and people are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

This summer, there will also be old-style jam sessions on Tuesday nights in the pavilion from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is also free and musicians are invited to join in.
