Resolute Forest Products is putting more than $50 million into its Northwestern Ontario operations, including $13.5 million for Thunder Bay’s pulp and paper mill.
Resolute’s president and CEO Yves Laflamme made the announcement to a packed room at the Thunder Bay site on Thursday that included Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Natural Resources and Forestry Minister Jeff Yurek.
Laflamme said the investment has been in the works for a few years and the work is already underway. Most of it will be completed by the end of the year.
