Thunder Bay city council unanimously voted in favour of Bonobo’s Foods’ rezoning amendment application earlier this week.

Morgan Zimmer is feeling waves of happiness and relief after city council unanimously voted in favour of Bonobo’s Foods’ rezoning request.

Bonobo’s, a popular vegetarian restaurant in Thunder Bay, is located on the corner of Oliver Road and Ray Boulevard and started as a takeout food service with a small vegan and vegetarian grocery section.

The business eventually phased out the groceries and now has a small sit-down area with eight tables and 30 chairs.

This change increased the demand for on-street parking and gave concern to some area residents, which stalled Bonobo’s application to have the business rezoned to allow for the tables.
