Hundreds of dollars raised

St. Bernard School’s junior and senior kindergarten split class celebrates raising $850 for the George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation on Monday. The students raised the money by helping design sustainable T-shirts and selling them.

One class of kindergarten students at St. Bernard School have proven that big change can come from small people.

On Monday, the school’s junior and senior kindergarten split class presented George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation representatives with $850 they raised through the sale of T-shirts they designed with the help of local graphic designer Heather Cranston and Ungalli Clothing.

Their teacher, Ashley Kibzey, said the students were interested in learning about life cycles and taking care of the environment. They learned about everything from the important role bees play in nature to planting in the schoolyard.
