Unloading jarred preserves

Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra volunteers from left, Margaret Maw, Cathy Fretz and Brenda Gillespie unload hundreds of jarred preserves at the Grassroots Church on Balmoral Street that will be available during the winter Fruit and Cheese sale today and Friday.

It’s all hands on deck for volunteers who are working feverishly to set up hundreds of items for the 46th annual Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra (TBSO) winter fruit and cheese fundraiser this week.

Everyone is welcome to come and choose from a wide selection of three varieties of oranges, Texas red grapefruit, three varieties of apples, a large assortment of specialty cheese, hundreds of jars of jams and preserves, local honey and locally roasted coffee.

Volunteers will be on hand today and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Grassroots Church at 1250 Balmoral Street. Hours will be extended to Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. for late pickups.
