After moving to Court Street six years ago, Beth DeProphetis, co-owner of The Loop, said many other stores opened up in the Waterfront District within three months.

“That brings out more people and the more people that come to the area, more businesses open up and it’s been changing ever since,” said DeProphetis.

That change can partly be attributed to the neighbourhood beautification efforts of the Waterfront District BIA, which has introduced street banners, garbage containers and streetscaping.
