The jazzy notes of musician Robin Ranger and his band matched the relaxed summer vibe on Thursday as City Hall Sounds got under way for its sixth season.

The free concert series from noon to 1 p.m. each Thursday in August in front of Thunder Bay City Hall showcases McGillivary Square as a community meeting place with music, food trucks, and representatives from different local organizations on hand to talk about their services.

Lee-Ann Chevrette, co-ordinator with the Crime Prevention Council, said it’s a way to break down barriers for accessing services.
