Raptors re-sign star point guard Lowry

TORONTO - Kyle Lowry is staying with the Raptors.

The veteran point guard who led Toronto to its first post-season appearance in five years tweeted he's re-signed with the team.

Lowry was the top point guard available in NBA free agency.

The 28-year-old is coming off a stellar season in which he averaged a career-best 17.9 points-per-game and 7.4 assists-per-game.

Lowry averaged 21.1 points in the first round as the Raptors fell in seven games to Brooklyn.

The six-foot, 205-pounder was acquired by Toronto in a 2012 trade with Houston.
