Allan, Hughie

It is with extreme sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Hughie James Allan, age 40, beloved son of Carol and Carl Sundlin, at his residence on Thursday, January 8, 2004. Born on May 6, 1963 in Fort Frances, he was raised in Thunder Bay. Hughie had been employed by Canada Car and Apple Auto Glass, but for the past thirteen years was part of the Native People of Thunder Bay Housing Program. Hughie's kind and caring nature was evident to all who knew him. Throughout his life, Hughie enjoyed working on cars, getting together with friends, and enjoying the great outdoors, but, his greatest love was for his son Logan. Hughie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Logan; parents Carol and Carl Sundlin; twin brother Harvey (Lisa); brothers Alfred (Karen) and Keith (Debbie); sister Nancy (Adam) Kaurin. Also surviving are numerous nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Also left to mourn his passing are his stepson Scott, former wife Sherrie Cameron and Big Brother Dave Gray. He was predeceased by his father Fred Allan in 1983; sister-in-law Ginette Allan in 2003; grandparents Gus and Effie Both and Veronica Allan; his infant twin sons, wee David and Carl. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Ivany. Services to be completed in the Chapel with cremation to follow. Interment of ashes will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Hughie's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Association of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Thunder Bay.
