Allan, Muriel Nancy
1925 - 2005Mrs. Muriel Nancy Allan, passed away peacefully in hospital on Saturday, August 27th, 2005 at the age of 80. Muriel was born in England and moved to Canada in 1946 as an English war bride after marrying Donald who was stationed in England serving with the Canadian Army-LSR(Motor)during WWII. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. Muriel was employed by Chapples Department Store for many years after which she willingly babysat her two granddaughters. In earlier years Muriel loved having the family over for Sunday dinners and enjoyed being busy in the kitchen cooking and baking for the them. Muriel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Muriel is survived by her daughter Gail (Ron) Saarinen; granddaughters Crystal and Mandy; sister Joan Johnston; sister-in-law Anne (Norm)Kuster of Mississauga; nephew Ian Johnston; nieces Joyce Miller of Mississauga and Janice Kuster-Keenan of Pittsburgh and grand dog "Julian". Predeceased by her loving husband Donald (June 12th, 2003); her parents John and Violet Corbett and brother-in-law George Johnston. In keeping with Muriel's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, August 31st at Broadway United Church (1303 Broadmore Ave. at Francis) with Rev. Jan Sampson officiating. All services complete in the church. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Chron's Disease(Colitis and Ileitis) Society or the charity of choice.
