Mr. Eero Sulo Annelin (Pikku Eero) passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness, on Wednesday, October 2, 2002. Born in Kokkola, Finland on April 11, 1943, he came to Canada in 1965 after spending time living in Sweden and serving with the Finnish Army.He was employed by Provincial Papers for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed travelling and like most Finns, he appreciated a good hot sauna.Eero was predeceased by his mother, Wilma, his father, Sulo and his brother, Kalevi, in Finland; also, his brother, Olavi, his father-in-law, Aimo Tasa, and his mother-in-law Gertie Tasa of Thunder Bay.He is survived by his wife, Pauline and their three children, Karen, in Kingston (now here), Markku, in Thunder Bay, and Lisa, at home. A brother, Leo, and two sisters, Sirkka and Helvi survive in Finland as well two sister-in-laws, Mirja Annelin and Linda Tasa-Andrychuk in Thunder Bay. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Finland. He will be missed by 'the boys' Ravi and Dirk.Funeral services for the late Eero Annelin, will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at 11:00 am in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma with Pastor Dan Repo officiating. Final interment of cremated remains will be in Lappe Cemetery.
