Annelin, Markku
On Monday, May 2, 2011, Markku passed away unexpectedly at the age of thirty-three.
Despite his reserved nature, Markku was friendly and kind. He was a gentle soul who had a fondness for animals and made compassionate connections with children and the elderly. He was devoted to his pets: his dog, Nakita and his cat, Patches. Despite not living nearby, he was a very proud uncle to his niece Kaylin. As a lifelong nature lover, he particularly enjoyed the time he spent with his grandparents in Lappe in his youth.
Markku is survived by his mother Pauline Annelin; sisters Karen Annelin (Guy) and Lisa Garrison (Lanny); and niece Kaylin Garrison. Aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Markku was predeceased by his father, Eero Annelin; grandparents Gertie and Aimo Tasa, and Wilma and Sulo Annelin.
Following cremation, a Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6th, 2011 in Lappe Cemetery, Dog Lake Road, officiated by Pastor Jari Lahtinen of Hilldale Lutheran Church. If friends so desire, donations made in Markku's memory to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society, or to a charity of their choice would be appreciated.
