Arnot, Lucy Elizabeth
Lucy Elizabeth Arnot (nee Cowan) 1914 - 2008 Elizabeth passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Dawson Court Home For The Aged on December 3 with family by her side. She attended local schools including Port Arthur Collegiate. Then she attended the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and obtained her ATCM which qualified her to teach piano. She was married to her beloved husband George in 1939 and together they raised three children. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, residing at 64 Prospect Avenue before moving to at Waverley Park Towers. Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of passion for her family. She also enjoyed the theatre and the symphony. She spent many hours rehearsing and performing in a variety of Cambrian Players productions and was honored as a life member. She also was a staunch supporter of St. Paul's United Church. She is survived by daughter Judi Loewen (Harvey), son Don (Lindy), daughter-in-law Jo-Anne Holland, brother Don Cowan (Jane), sister-in-law Sheila Cowan, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1961, granddaughter Becky and most recently son Jim and brother Bill Cowan. Many thanks to the Dawson Court staff for their dedicated care of Elizabeth for the past six years of her life, especially the last few difficult days. A private family internment service will take place at Riverside Cemetery. A gathering of friends will be held at St. Paul's United Church on Waverley Street in Lunan Hall starting at 11:30 AM on Saturday December 6. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, can be made to the Cambrian Players.
