Backen, David (Clutch)

David Backen (Clutch), lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, passed away April 24th, 2012 with his family by his side, in the ICU at the TBRHSC. Survived by his beautiful daughter Amie, Toronto, sisters Linda Edwards (Bob), Winnipeg, Lois Vester, Maple Ridge, BC, brothers Ed Backen (Marjie), Thunder Bay, Bill Backen (Sherry), Thunder Bay and Micheal Backen (Janet), Duncan, BC and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Olav and Dorothy Backen, niece Bobbi-Lynn and his love Jan Erickson. David loved the simple things in life. In his memory, please read a book or go for a bike ride, as he loved to do. As per David’s wishes, no service will be held and a private interment will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff of the ICU that were devoted and did their best to care for and make David comfortable. He will be missed.
