Ball, Denise

Mrs. Denise Ball, age 47 years, of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Saturday, August 18, 2001 after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. Denise was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, moving to Fort William as a child. She attended Holy Family School and Selkirk High School, where she met her future husband, Glen Ball. Denise worked for the Thunder Bay District Catholic School Board as the secretary in the Board Office, at St. Patrick's High School and at Holy Family School. She was a Girl Guide and Pathfinder leader for many years, as well as belonging to the Horticultural Society. Her main interests were her family and friends but she also enjoyed the outdoors , loved fishing, and gardening as well as crocheting. Denise is survived by her husband Glen, daughter Leah, mother Shirley Boivin, sisters Debbie Hogg (Brent) and Dara-Lynn Gibson (Gordon), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law James and Debbie Ball and Donna and Charles Elliott, of Selkirk (enroute), numerous nieces and nephews: Dana and Charlene Elliott, Justin and Myles Ball and Jamie and Cindy Hogg and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her father Antione Boivin on December 25, 2000. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at Holy Family R.C. Church for Funeral Mass celebrated by Fr. Rey Ronquillo. Removal will be made from the WESFORT CHAPEL, 420 W. Gore Street prior to service time. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. in the chapel with Prayers commencing at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel. If friends so desire memorial donations to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society's- Children With Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
