Wilbert "Bill" John Caren
After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, in the early morning hours on August 1st, 2010, Dad took his last breath to be reunited with his beloved wife Marie and the Lord. Dad passed away at home surrounded by his 3 children Lisa, Dwayne and Samanthe, their spouses and his 6 grandchildren. We are forever grateful for the family time we were given with Dad. These past 5 weeks of his life allowed us the time to share stories, and for Dad to be with his grandchildren when they received the antique cars, which were such a passion in his life. We went to Basket Lake a few times, and out to the farm to finish a few projects. A funeral in Dad's honour was held August 5th at 2 pm at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Dryden. Mom and Dad will be laid to rest at Stanley Hill Cemetery in Kakabeka Falls the following week. We would like to thank Dr Davis and Dr Migay from hospice in Thunder Bay for their support for Dad's pain management. This allowed Dad to remain in his home comfortably over the last 5 weeks. We would like to thank Dr. Mazurski for her home visits. We would like to thank the home care nurses, who made sure we had all the supplies to provide care for Dad. We are very thankful for the love, support, visits and food from all our Mom and Dad's friends, and the stories and love they have shared for our parents. Dad truly enjoyed all the visits from his family and friends. We know how difficult it was to say good bye but we are so grateful to have witnessed your love and friendship. It was incredible.
