Carroll, Elbert (Ab)
It is with sadness that the family of Elbert (Ab) Carroll announces his peaceful passing at St. Joseph's Hospice on December 24, 2008 after a long, happy, and interesting life. He is now reunited with his wife, Edna (Raby) of 60 years. Ab, the son of the late Herb and Mabel Carroll was a life time resident of Fort William/Thunder Bay. He was a faith-filled man with many interests including his love of curling, sports, spending time with his family and in his workshop, and being a member of the Hawks Nest Club. He was recognized by the Alzheimer Society for his tireless commitment of 17 years to their Day Program. Ab is survived by his daughters Brenda Concil (Sault Ste. Marie) and Mary Barbara Lacaria and their husbands, Elio and Dominic who he loved and admired. He was a proud Papa of four grandchildren who cherished him dearly, Anthony Concil (Geneva, Switzerland), Joanna, Lisa (Red Rock), and David Lacaria. He is also survived by his siblings Theresa Stolz (Tony), and Patricia Austin (George Newton), Lorne Carroll (Dolores), Bobby Carroll (Helen), Pat Carroll (Mary), and sister-in-law Rae Carroll.
