Charles Clayton, age 85 years, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Pioneer Ridge on Saturday, June 9, 2012.

He was the beloved father of Donald (Marjut), Joe, Laura (Len), Francis (Heather) and Marjorie. He loved his grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa, Laura (and her mother Syaufen), Sydney, Madison and Erin, and his great-grandchildren Alex, Juliane, Melody, Mia and Evangeline. Charles will be greatly missed by his sister Donna and his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Ethel, by his wife, the little angel, Jane, and his grandchildren Rick and Luke.

Charlie was born January 4th, 1927 in Fort William. After school, Charlie was employed as a telegraph boy, then enlisted in the Army. After his discharge he worked for the Board of Grain Commissioners until he retired.

Charlie was devoted to his family but found the time to perform as a drummer in various bands including Roy Coran's Band, The Bottom of the Barrel, Senior Amigos and the Elks Clown Band.

Charlie's other passion was photography, something he got from his own father, which was matched with great skill and artistry. His photography was much admired and his work published many times.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Ridge for the care and affection he received.

Funeral services for the late Mr. Charles Clayton will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 with family and friends gathering in St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:00AM.

Should friend desire, donations in memory of Charles to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street.
