Crocker, Ernest Reginald "Bud"
May 8, 1943 ~ May 30, 2008 Ernest Reginald Crocker, known to all who knew and loved him as "Bud", passed away peacefully on May 30th at 12:55 am in St. Joseph's Hospice care. Recently diagnosed with cancer, Bud spent a short time between the Regional and St. Joseph's Hospitals where, after exceptional care, he passed away, with loving family members at his side. Bud had a number of careers, but the most rewarding was working with the young inmates as a Correctional Officer for the past 23 years in Thunder Bay. He had many hobbies. These included cooking and golfing, but especially enjoying nature at his home at Grand Point Rd. He could always tell a story of an animal visitor, whether it be from the lake, the air or his garden. Bud is survived by his son Leigh (Suzy), and grandchildren Adam and Emma Crocker. His mother Iris E. Crocker (Mickey) of 225 Ross St. , step sister Shirley Irwin, sister Candy, sister Kelly (Wally) and brother Bobby (Penny) also survive him. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his father Stan Crocker, step brother Terry, brothers Bill and Bruce and sister Penny. His nephew Tim Crocker and niece Stacey Little also predeceased him. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, and the Elks Children's Trust Fund would be appreciated. Bud had many close friends and relatives, and he always felt that he was part of a giant family. He certainly honoured the valued his time spent with everyone. Bud's wishes were not to have an elaborate social event held in his honour. In respect of his wishes friends and family are welcome for coffee or tea on Sunday, June 8th between 2:30 and 5:00 pm. Reception is in the common room of the Legion Arms at 225 Ross St.
