Dubeau, Eleanor
Eleanor DuBeau Eleanor DuBeau (nee Bowles) passed away peacefully after watching her favourite team - The Montreal Canadiens - play, in the company of her much loved cat, Max. She will be sadly missed by her son John (Sue) and daughter, Heather Miller (Bill) and brother, Cliff (Barb) Bowles. Grandma DuBeau, as she loved to be called, will also be missed by her grandchildren: Carolyn Miller, Sarah Harris, Megan and James DuBeau. Eleanor, born in Montreal on July 3rd 1938, married Armand and moved to Fort William in 1966. Armand and "Nor" lived on Holt Place for the first year and then made Edward Street their family home and raised their 3 children. In the later years, they moved to a condo on James Street. One of Mom's favourite pastimes was keeping in touch with her many good friends and family that she loved. In later years, Eleanor moved to Ottawa to be close to her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed seeing Sarah and Carolyn playing their favourite sports and having dinners at Heather and Bill's home. She was an avid hockey fan and would often call her friends during games to discuss the latest score. Her favourite memories were of her younger years in Ste. Adele and also her own children growing up. Eleanor will also be greatly missed by her family in Montreal. A service will be held in the summer in Montreal or Ottawa for family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Armand in 2000 and her cherished daughter, Margie in 1996 and by her beloved brother, John. She will be honoured and laid to rest with her husband and daughter with a graveside service on Thursday, April 17th at 11:00 am at the Riverside Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation in lieu of flowers are welcomed.
