Dunn, Elsie

Mrs. Elsie Agnes Dunn, died on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospice following a brief battle with leukemia. Elsie was born on December 30, 1921 in Fort William and was a longtime resident of Westfort. She was employed formerly with Weldwood of Canada Ltd. until 1978, when she resigned to take employment with Employment and Immigration Canada. She took early retirement in 1985. Although her family, especially her grandchildren, were her primary concern, her outside interests were many and varied. Elsie was an active member of the Royal Purple Lodge #14 and the Ladies Auxilliary A.N.A.F. Lodge 257. She served on various committees for both organizations. She was an avid golfer and a former member of the Chapples Ladies Golf Club; also a member of the Superior Bowl Tuesday Ladies League. Elsie is survived by her daughter Laura-Ann Bushby, Kingston, daughter and son-in-law Dianne and Gary Ghent, Beverly Hills, Michigan, grandsons Bradley (Alana) Bushby, Burlington, Kyle (Jennifer) Bushby, Thunder Bay, granddaughter Alexandra Ghent, Beverly Hills, Michigan, great granddaughter Madison Bushby, Burlington, as well as nieces and nephews locally, in Manitoba and B.C. She was predeceased by her husband Charles E. Dunn January 8, 1997, parents Dolly and Horace V. Ager, sister Dorothy (Mrs. G. Bennetto), Nanaimo, B.C. , brothers Victor Ager , Burnaby, B.C. , George Ager, Fort Frances, Edward (Ted) and Earl Ager, Thunder Bay. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 1:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Sparks officiating. Members of the Elk's Royal Purple Lodge will hold a memorial service in conjunction with the service. Private interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Donations in Elsie's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Care Group (Hospice) or the Elk's Children's Trust Fund.
