It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Beverley Dunn, age 80 years, announces his passing at his home on October 6, 2010, after a long illness. Bev was born in Boissevain, Manitoba on February 1, 1930. He attended local schools and in 1948 joined the Royal Bank of Canada. In 1951 he left the bank and joined Brewers Retail in Dryden, Ontario. Bev married Betty Mains in 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They moved to Red Lake, Ontario in 1956 and then to Fort William, Ontario in 1960. Bev was a quiet gentle man known for his kindness and big heart. He loved spending time with his family almost as much as he enjoyed being on the golf course. A perfect day for Bev was early morning play 18 holes of golf with his buddies; home to bbq with his family He was a long-time member of First Church United. Bev will be sadly missed by his loving wife Betty of 57 years, son Bradley, daughter Kim (Randy) and grandson Steven. Bev is survived by his sisters Joan of Carman, Manitoba, Oral and Berith of Winnipeg, Manitoba, brother-in-law George, sister-in-law Betty of Aldergrove, B.C., nieces and nephews. Bev was predeceased by his parents Lome and Edith Dunn, his father-in-law Harold and mother-in-law Elma Mains of Boissevain, Manitoba, sister-in-law Audrey Mains, brothers-in-law Allan Mains, Jim Lawson, Hugh Mackenzie and nephew Craig Mains. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11 am at First Wesley United Church, 130 Brodie Street North. If friends desire donations may be made in Bev's name to a charity of your choice.
