Marjory Ellen Dunn in her 88th year, died peacefully on the 12th of December 2002 at St. Joseph's Care Group after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Oswald Dunn, they came to Port Arthur in 1941 from Sperling and Miami, Manitoba. Here they raised their family of 2 daughters and a son who survive them; Raymond and wife Eleanor of Thunder Bay, Marlene Gibbons with husband Robertson of Tobermory, Ontario and Jerrine Fecteau with husband Gerard of Auckland, New Zealand. She was a loving Nana to 10 grandsons and 1 granddaughter and to 23 great grandchildren and a special friend to many others. Although totally deaf for the last 45 years, she cultivated that love and friendship by lip reading, correspondence, many many cups of tea, visits, notes and birthday, special event and thank you cards. Marjory's graciousness and her caring and generous spirit, which God gave her, endeared her to all. Marjory was predeceased by her parents Nellie Young and Jack Waddell, her brothers William, Garnet, Stanley, Robert, Gordon and Reuben and sisters Irene, Mabel and Florence. She is survived by 2 brothers Wilfred Waddell with wife Joan of Saanichton, B.C. and Victor Waddell with wife Muriel of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. We especially thank Dr. Ek, Dr. Lai and the many people and health care workers in the community who enabled her to remain living well in her apartment and home over the last years and to the St. Joseph's Care Group for their care in the last week of her life. A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st in St. Paul's United Church, where she and Cliff served and were members since 1942 with Rev. Lloyd Ivany and Ms. Cathy McMillan officiating. Friends may call at the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 North Court Street on Friday, December 20th from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be directed to St. Paul's United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
