Durbin, Samuel
The family sadly announces that Sam has passed onto a better place on Friday, June 27th, 2008 at 84 years of age. Sam was born in Wales, U.K. on September 20th, 1923. His family came to Canada in 1926. He lived in Fort Frances and surrounding area until he moved to Thunder Bay in 1965. He married Dolly Whitefield in 1947 and had two children. Sam was a truck driver most of his life, sometimes owning his trucks. He worked for Arnone Transport for several years until he retired. Sam enjoyed spending time at the property he looked after in Pardee Twp. for the past 12 years. He was predeceased by his parents Edgar and Maria; his wife Dolly; brothers Eddie, Harry, Waldo and sisters Eileen and Olive. Survived by children Dianne and Dan, grandchildren Blake, Marlla, Ashley, Adam and Blair; great grandchildren Kylar, Tim, Tyger and Zoe. He will also be missed by his friend Mary. A memorial service will be held for Sam on Saturday, July 5th in the Common Room at Spence Court (230 W. Amelia St. ) from 1-4p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society can be made if so desired. Online condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
