DUTHIEMrs. Cecilia Duthie age 88 years, resident of Pinewood Court, died at her residence on Wednesday April 25, 2001. A lifetime resident of the city she was a daughter of the late Steve and Anna Tomanocy. Cecilia married John Duthie Jr. and he predeceased her in 1958. She worked for the Lakehead Board of Education, first at Twinhaven and then at the Board Office, until her retirement in 1978. Cecilia was a former member of the Kinettes Club, the Parkinsons Foundation and the Happy Handicaps. Cecilia is survived by her daughter-in-law Betty Anne Duthie, grandchildren John, Liza Biniaris and her husband Ken and Peter and his wife Johanna, great grandchildren Hannah and Ross. Nieces, nephews and other relatives survive. She was predeceased by her husband John "Jack" son Cal, brothers Steve, Peter and Andrew Tomanocy and sisters Anna Vasilek and Mary Miller. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 28, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. in Pinewood Court with Sister Ethel Rakai officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire memorials to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital Foundation, John Calvin Duthie Fund, would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Cecilia Duthie in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday June 23, 2002.
