Fairbairn, Douglas Glen

Douglas Glen Fairbairn, aged 55, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away at his residence March 4, 2006, after a brief illness. He was born and educated in Thunder Bay. In 1976 he began his career teaching French in Halifax to civil servants and the military. Doug treasured time spent with family and his many friends, and took great pleasure in entertaining and cooking for them. Surviving are his brother Thomas Fairbairn, sister Jean Fairbairn, brother-in-law Jackson Sanderson, nephew David Fairbairn, niece Josie Reichwald, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and their families. Doug was predeceased by his father David in 1979, and his mother Dora (nee Kotyk) in 2002. Cremation has taken place, and the ashes will be interred in the family plot at a later date.
