NOVEMBER 27, 1954 - DECEMBER 9, 2011

Ms. Linda Mary Fenton, age 57 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2011 in St. Joseph’s Hospice after a courageous two years of living with cancer.

Linda was born in Fort William on November 27, 1954 to James and Mary Pearce. She attended Francis Street School, Kingsway Park School, and Selkirk High School.

Linda started as a hairdressing apprentice at age 17. She was the proprietor of her own shop, The Hair After, for 20-some years. Linda loved hairdressing because she loved people. She loved to listen to their stories and help them with their troubles. Even when her customers could no longer come to her, she made the time to go to them.

While growing up a lot of time was spent at Tarbutt Park with the neighbourhood kids, playing baseball and skating. She also had a love for bowling, shopping, talking on the phone to her many close friends, and the one on one time she spent with her dad, going to the casino, going out for dinner, and just visiting. Over the years there was never a shortage of pets in the house. She loved her animals and the company they provided. She had a sparkle in her eye for her grandkids, Jersey and Christopher.

Linda will be lovingly remembered by her father Jim Pearce, daughter Amy (Chris), son Chris (Mandy), brothers Gordon and Larry (Linda), grandchildren Jersey and Christopher, long time friend Jim Fenton, many Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, nephews and nieces, and close friends.

She is predeceased by her mother Mary Pearce, grandmother Mabel Crocker, and grandfather Joseph Crocker.

Funeral Services for the late Ms. Linda Fenton will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in First Wesley United Church. Interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery at a later date.

If friends so desire, donations made in memory of Linda to St. Joseph’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
