FILIPOVICMr. Nick Filipovic 78 years of age born in Port Arthur and lifetime resident of the city passed away on April 4, 2001 at Port Arthur General after a lengthy illness. Nick managed the Princess Hotel for most of his life and sold real estate in his later years until his retirement. He was a member of the Croatian Home Society. His home and family were his main interests. Nick is survived by his wife Joanne, two sons John at Home, Peter (Bridget) of Nashville, Tennessee, two daughters Kathy (Brian) Ashby of Bracebridge, Ontario and Jane of Nashville, Tennessee, three grandsons Christopher Ashby, Connor and Jack Filipovic, one sister Anna (George) Racic of Thunder Bay, two brothers Frank (Ann) of Hamilton, John (Marguerite) of Thunder Bay, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Filipovic. Funeral services for the late Mr. Nick Filipovic will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma at 9:40 a.m. to St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church for Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Scott Gale. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery. Prayers will be offered on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the EVEREST CHAPEL. Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
